The first layouts I built for myself were in N, HO and G Scales. My next personal layout will be in Sn3 and will feature both rod engines and logging locomotives.

Warranty Information

 

I guarantee all of my work and I stand behind the products I sell. If you experience a failure within the first 30 days after installation by me, that is the result of poor workmanship on my part or a defect in the materials or workmanship of a product I sold you (verified by the manufacturer, thereof), repair or replacement will be done at no cost to you other than the cost of returning the model to me. To qualify, the product must be furnished by me, and the installation must have been done by me. No exceptions. I cannot be held responsible for products not furnished by me, or work not done by me.

 

If you ask me to install a product purchased elsewhere and there is a failure related to a defect in materials or workmanship in that product, re-installation will be done at my published rates and you will be responsible for any and all charges incurred in the process of getting the product repaired. 

 

Outside of the 30-day initial warranty period and for a period not to exceed 90 days, warranty repairs and/or replacement will be handled on a case by case basis. Things that are not covered for any length of time include, but are not limited to, burned-out lamps, damages caused by excessive volume, intentional damage, misuse of the model, excessive voltage, abuse, accidents, acts of God such as excessive heat (i.e., outdoor railroad applications), floods, damage caused by moisture and rain, lightning or hurricanes or anything else that is not directly related to a defect in materials or workmanship. Determination of the nature of the problem will be solely left up to me and/or the manufacturer of the product in question. Any tampering with the model or attempt by you to do the repair yourself will void all warranties that have been extended by me, and may void any warranties extended by the manufacturer of the product.

 

Warranty Claims Procedure

 

If a problem is incurred, please contact me and acquire a return authorization before shipping the model. Once a return authorization has been received, return the model, at your expense, along with a note describing the problem. Once received, I will do an evaluation to verify the problem, inform you of any charges that may be incurred on your part, and take the necessary steps to correct the problem.

Instances have occurred where a customer attempted to program one thing, but accidentally programmed another. This happens from time to time, even to the best of us, and can be extremely frustrating, especially if you are new to DCC. Fortunately, many decoders have a "reset" feature to take the decoder programming back to factory defaults. This should always be tried first. If the problem persists, contact me as certain other issues are also easily solved via email or over the telephone. This is mutually beneficial to both of us, and the reason why I ask you to please contact me before returning a model for repair.
